Community Guidelines
At ScienceWorks, curiosity comes first — and so does community. Our museum is a place where kids, families, and lifelong learners can explore, experiment, and play together. To keep ScienceWorks safe, fun, and welcoming for everyone, we ask all visitors to follow these simple guidelines. They help us take care of each other, our exhibits, and the spirit of discovery that makes ScienceWorks special.
- Help us create a safe, fun, and inclusive experience for all.
- Use your walking feet and indoor voices.
- Keep your shoes on while you explore.
- Children 12 and under must stay with an adult.
- Use exhibits as they are intended; gentle hands keep them working for everyone.
- Respect other guests and take turns.
- Keep all food and drinks in the lobby (Kranzler Hall).
- If an exhibit or guest needs attention, please alert our front desk staff.
- Play, learn, and stay curious!
- Return materials to their proper place when finished.
- Some exhibits have small parts; keep a close eye on younger visitors.
- Photography is welcome; please be mindful of others’ privacy.
- Only service animals are permitted in the museum.
- ScienceWorks is an inclusive museum. We celebrate everyone exactly as they are; please treat others with kindness and respect.

Sensory-Friendly Resources
At ScienceWorks, we want everyone to enjoy hands-on learning at their own pace. We offer noise-canceling headphones for visitors who are sensitive to loud sounds, and our staff are happy to help plan your visit. Call ahead to discuss any sensory needs — we can suggest quieter times, less busy areas, or ways to make your visit more comfortable. Our theatre is dimly lit and plays nature films with gentle music when not in use for programs, serving as a calm, soothing space for anyone who needs a break.
Special Admission
ScienceWorks offers a variety of special admission prices for the community.
First Sunday
The first Sunday of every month is a special day at ScienceWorks! Enjoy special programming and a reduced admission price of $5 for ages 2 & up.
Museums For All
Show your SNAP/Oregon Trail card at the Front Desk for a reduced admission price of $3 for up to 4 individuals per card. This program is grant- and donation-funded.

Group Visits
Groups of 8 or more people are eligible for a reduced admission price of $9 per person. Please call at least 24 hours ahead of your visit if your group is larger than 15 people. We ask that you have one adult for every five children under 13.
ASTC Passport Program
ScienceWorks is a participating member of the ASTC Passport Program. If you are a member at another participating institution, we will admit 2 adults and multiple children for free.

Host an Event or Party
Rent the museum!
With a conference room, a theater, three classrooms, and an entire exhibits hall of hands-on interactives and intriguing displays, ScienceWorks is a unique and exciting place to hold an event. We offer full facility rentals or rentals by room type, for both days and evenings. Holiday staff parties, donor events, anniversary celebrations, or employee workshops are all bound to be hits when held at the museum.
