Field trips
Field Trips are offered Wednesday - Friday, with 2 available time slots:
Working in small groups, students will learn about owl biology and dissect a sanitized owl pellet. They can even keep their favorite finds!
NGSS Life Science 2: Ecosystems—Interaction, Energy, and Dynamics
Students use our various tools and supplies to make a Rube Goldberg machine with musical instruments.
NGSS Physical Science 2: Motion and Stability—Forces and Interactions
Students rotate between 3 stations to learn the science behind wilderness survival, like making a compass and model life raft.
NGSS Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science 1: Engineering Design, NGSS Earth and Space Science 3: Earth and Human Activity
Using everyone's favorite building blocks, students will build and test different types of bridges to learn about civil engineering.
NGSS Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science 1 & 2: Engineering Design and Links Among Engineering, Technology, Science, and Society
Introduce laboratory science to your students by using microscopes to identify various specimens and create their own dichotomous keys.
NGSS Life Science 1: From Molecules to Organisms—Structures and Processes
Students work in small groups to try to receive samples from Mars using our color-coding Ozobots.
NGSS Earth and Space Science 1: Earth's Place in the Universe
By popular demand, we have brought back our ScienceLIVE shows for Friday field trips only! This interactive and engaging science show will add an extra special ending to a wonderful day at ScienceWorks. Featuring science demos performed by our educators, each show is about 30 minutes long.
A ScienceLIVE add-on show will add 30 minutes to your field trip time and is only available on Fridays.
The fee for a ScienceLIVE add-on show is $75.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled field trip start time to receive
an orientation to the museum and an itinerary.
