Field Trip Registrations Are Now Open For The 2025 - 2026 School Year


We are excited to welcome school groups back to ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum this fall! Field trips include two hours of open museum exploration, plus the option to add engaging, grade-level workshops aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Designed with teachers in mind, our workshops integrate thoughtfully with classroom learning while giving students an engaging and exploratory hands-on STEAM experience.


We serve students from pre-K to grade 12, across the Rogue Valley and northern California. Each workshop is tailored to your grade level and aligned with the appropriate NGSS standards. Book your field trip today and bring your lessons to life!


Stay curious!

Your visit for up to 120 students includes Museum Exploration time, as well as an optional added workshop.

Field Trips are offered Wednesday - Friday, with 2 available time slots:

  • 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm


Base Price:

  • $9 per student
  • $5 per student for Title 1 schools
  • All school staff free
  • 1 additional free chaperone per 5 students
  • Additional chaperones are $9 per person

Choose an Optional Workshop

Each workshop includes a one hour hands-on activity for up to 30 students.
All of our workshops are designed to be engaging for all grade levels, and we adjust our activities accordingly.

Owl Pellet Dissection

$125 per 30 students

Working in small groups, students will learn about owl biology and dissect a sanitized owl pellet. They can even keep their favorite finds!

NGSS Life Science 2: Ecosystems—Interaction, Energy, and Dynamics

Students use our various tools and supplies to make a Rube Goldberg machine with musical instruments.

Using everyone's favorite building blocks, students will build and test four challenges such as launchpads, rockets, and space habitats.

Want even more from your visit? Add a ScienceLIVE Show!

By popular demand, we have brought back our ScienceLIVE shows for Friday field trips only! This interactive and engaging science show will add an extra special ending to a wonderful day at ScienceWorks. Featuring science demos performed by our educators, each show is about 30 minutes long.


A ScienceLIVE add-on show will add 30 minutes to your field trip time and is only available on Fridays.


The fee for a ScienceLIVE add-on show is $75.

Know Before You Go

  • Abide by our Group Agreement during the entirety of your visit.
  • Please distribute the Chaperone Responsibilities to your chaperones before arrival.
  • Ensure that your group has at least 1 adult for every 5 students, and determine groups and chaperones before arrival.
  • Lunch spaces are outside on our Plaza.
  • We can offer noise-reducing headphones to any visitor.
  • Be prepared to provide an accurate headcount of staff, students, and chaperones.
  • If your group arrives more than 20 minutes late, your workshop will be canceled. However, you are still able to explore the museum.
  • ScienceWorks requires a written notice of cancelation, or your group will be subject to a $50 cancelation fee. Email education@scienceworksmuseum.org at least 24 hours before your start time to cancel your reservation.


Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled field trip start time to receive

an orientation to the museum and an itinerary.
