Every Saturday* and Sunday from 11 AM to 2 PM,  Kranzler Hall comes alive with rotating facilitated activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Drop in for favorites like the painting pendulum, the exploration station, and our ever-inventive tinkering studio — all free with membership or admission.


This March, the tinkering studio features a variety of activities on rotation such as Coral Reef, Basketball Launcher, Solar Circuits, Cardboard Forest, and Green Machine.


*Please note the Tinkering Studio will be closed on Saturday, March 28.

Join us for World Water Day on Sunday, March 22. Explore freshwater systems, conservation, & sustainable water management with hands-on activities & community partners throughout the museum & grounds.


Rogue Riverkeeper Program Manager Frances Oyung presents “Follow the Raindrops: How We Can Protect Water Quality,” an interactive activity around the ScienceWorks grounds exploring how water moves through our landscape. Meet the Ashland Climate Collaborative and Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District. Build a beaver dam with the Rogue River Watershed Council in Pacific Crest Cove, create a DIY water filter in the Tinkering Studio, and catch a cloud demo at Exploration Station. Refuel with fire-baked pies from Allium Wood Fired Pizza and delicious shaved ice from Kona Ice Truck.

Join us outdoors on the ScienceWorks grounds for a day of hands-on activities, local vendors, and engaging experiences that highlight the science of sustainability. Play our EcoQuest game with community partners to earn prizes, enjoy live music by local artists, take home a free plant, explore the bubble tables, and refuel at tasty food trucks.



Earth Day is a call to protect our planet for future generations. Come learn, explore, and take action while celebrating the amazing people working to care for our planet — rain or shine.

ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is a vibrant hub for curiosity, creativity, and discovery located in Southern Oregon. Designed for learners of all ages, ScienceWorks offers interactive exhibits, hands-on workshops, and engaging programs that bring the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to life.
