The American Revolution: Extended Excerpts

Saturday, January 24, 3 PM
Free admission to Science Theater


Experience a 36-minute extended preview of The American Revolution, the new six-part documentary series by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. Southern Oregon PBS CEO Phil Meyer will join us at ScienceWorks to introduce curated clips that explore how thirteen colonies united, fought for independence, and sparked global democratic change. Film screening admission is free and includes entry to the Science Theater. Museum exhibits require separate admission.

Join us for an artist reception with KYRIANNA, an internationally known watercolor and mixed media artist whose powerful work explores chronic pain, illness, and invisible disability through nature-inspired imagery. Connect with the artist, immerse yourself in Chronic Conditions Through the Lens of Nature, and engage in meaningful conversation at this free community gathering. All are welcome to celebrate art, science, and lived experience together at ScienceWorks.

This January, in the tinkering studio we're building a mini museum. Design and build a cardboard model of your favorite ScienceWorks exhibit — real or imagined! Explore engineering and creative thinking, then add your exhibit to our mini museum or take it home to keep the curiosity going.

ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is a vibrant hub for curiosity, creativity, and discovery located in Southern Oregon. Designed for learners of all ages, ScienceWorks offers interactive exhibits, hands-on workshops, and engaging programs that bring the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to life.
