Wild Music Concert Series: Caballito Negro performs “songbirdsongs”

July 6 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

It’s the Wild Music Concert Series! Join us the first Saturday of each month from February to August for a live music event at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum. Music begins at 1 pm.

Saturday, July 6th: Caballito Negro (flutist Tessa Brinckman and percussionist Terry Longshore) along with guest artists, flutist Debra Harris and percussionists Chris Whyte and Jared Brown, perform “songbirdsongs”, an evocation of rural birdsong by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Luther Adams. An epic poem to wilderness, “songbirdsongs” is a collection of indeterminate miniature pieces for piccolos, ocarinas, and percussion, based on free translations of bird songs.

This concert is included with admission to the museum.

Come for the concert, stay to explore the incredible sounds & songs of life in our Wild Music exhibit.
