Elisha Gray’s Telephone, A Sci Fi Story, Part 4

He built it in time. No no no! This is bad. This is very very bad. His engineers must be brilliant! Furthermore, he won the patent! He filed it one hour before I did. I can still start a company, but I’d have to pay rights, and those aren’t cheap. I lose. I’ll go broke if I don’t, so I might as well start a company. I just hope copyright is less than my profit.
Whoohhh—I feel like Elisha Gray, 149 years ago. He patented the telephone two hours after Alexander Graham Bell did. He’s always been my hero. The unsung inventor—the true inventor. I guess we’re both lying in the same grave now. The worst grave to lie in.
