A diverse group of over 50 people actively volunteer at ScienceWorks each month. Youth and adult volunteers provide essential services for ScienceWorks, and offer a unique Rogue Valley experience to our visitors. Volunteers interact with visiting school groups, facilitate visitors experience with the exhibits, work behind the scenes on exhibits or in the office, and help at special events.

All volunteers fill out a Volunteer Application and attend an orientation, which offers necessary training and general familiarity with the museum. We ask a minimum commitment of one 3-4 hour shift per month.
Volunteer benefits include:
- ScienceWorks T-Shirt after 30 hours
- Family membership after 50 hours
- Discounts on merchandise, birthday parties and summer camps
- Special recognition events
- Special training classes
If you would like to become a volunteer at ScienceWorks, fill out the Volunteer Application and contact Barbara Glassberg, our Volunteer Coordinator, to set up an orientation. After completing the orientation, you will shadow an experienced volunteer to receive more hands-on, observation-based training.
Come on in and amaze yourself!
New Opportunity for Children 8 - 12 years old!!
Does your child like to visit ScienceWorks? Does he/she wish they could work there? There is a way children between 8 and 12 years old can volunteer at the museum. They can be part of a parent/child volunteer team. Requirements are that the child must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent when volunteering and volunteer a minimum of a 3 or 4 hour shift a month. Volunteer together and have fun together.
Please remember that this is a selection process and not all applicants are accepted into the program. We reserve the right to place volunteers in the area we feel is best suited to their skills and the needs of the museum.
