TinkerFest - September 21 & 22, 10am - 5pm
TinkerFest from ScienceWorks on Vimeo.
TinkerFest pays homage to those artists who spend hours creating from cast-off materials...celebrates the inventor building rockets in her garage, artists crafting textiles that think..and revels in the zany contraptions that come from back-yard innovation. TinkerFest brings technology together with craftspeople, educators, families, artists to learn from each other.
TinkerFest focuses on hands-on, open-ended discovery that celebrates science, technology, engineering, art and creativity. Parents and children will have the opportunity to play at a wide variety of tinkering tables which offer such opportunities as dismantling and fixing small appliances, constructing copper-wire trees incorporating LED lights, building sculptures from odds and ends, crafting wiggly recycled tire creatures, and manipulating robotic warriors. You won't want to miss the car take apart! We provide the tools and you discover what actually goes into making a car.
Admission is $5 per person per day, including members. Proceeds from the weekend will support building a Tinkering Studio at ScienceWorks.
