ScienceWorks seeks an Administrative Manager to oversee all aspects of the accounting, human resources and technology for the Museum in the fulfillment of this mission.
Administrative Manager responsibilities include:
Process monthly payroll, issue paychecks with proper deductions and withdrawals
Process A/R, A/P, oversee business policies to maintain compliance with GAAP
Prepare monthly P&L statements and balance sheets in a timely manner
Manage the Museums administrative functions and performance
Manage the accounting, computer service, and telephone contractors
Ensure compliance with all legal reporting requirements
Act as the principal contact with external accounting auditor
Order supplies and materials to create an efficient office
Analyze the business transactions ensuring that all accounts remain balanced
Prepare data for all federal, state taxes
Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, including detailed accounting reports, documentation and reconciliations
Ensure that funds are allocated properly and efficiently to facilitate analysis and decision-making
Assist with other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and 2-years of significant coursework in accounting practices and business at either a junior college or a proprietary school that specializes in business administration
Experience in non-profit accounting and a 4-year business-related degree is preferred.
Exceptional accounting and technical skills, proficiency with various financial and spreadsheet software including QuickBooks, POS software, and Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Strong experience in accounting, HR, and I.T
Personal integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of ScienceWorks
Excellent people skills, with an ability to mentor, to manage, and to work in partnership with a team
Ability to focus on projects and complete them on-time.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
This is a full-time (40 hours a week), exempt position with medical benefits. Salary of $34,000+ is dependent upon experience. Please send cover letter and resume with salary history to:
